Northern Health Connect App

Northern Health is the key provider of public healthcare in Melbourne’s northern region and operates five major public healthcare facilities, providing a unique mix of services including medical, surgical, emergency, intensive and coronary care, paediatrics, women’s and maternal health, mental health, aged care, palliative care, and rehabilitation programs.

The Northern Health Connect multilingual mobile application is a central point of information with all Northern Health services, hospital and department contacts and onsite directional way-finding maps.

The way-finding mobile app we developed for this Melbourne based hospital provides a single access point for all services and Melbourne hospital locations. The mobile application was developed cross-platform using the React Native mobile app framework for both iOS and Android with a custom built Python/Django REST API and further additional API integration with the Northern Health WordPress website for news articles so the mobile app and website are synced and centralised with content. We also developed a secure web application that allows NH staff to send translated push notifications to the mobile app in 10 different languages including Greek, Arabic, Turkish, Italian, Farsi, Panjabi, Nepali, Macedonian and Chinese.
