Yes. It is designed specifically for custom PMS, telehealth, clinical and healthcare software platforms.
Technical integration typically takes 1–2 development days. Conformance testing and external approvals are separate and can take 3–12 months, depending on your system’s readiness, testing outcomes and third-party review timelines. We’ll work with your team to progress conformance as efficiently as possible. Your application’s prescribing interface and clinical workflows are also assessed against the applicable test cases, so they must be ready for testing and any required changes.
Yes. rxConnect® includes integration with the Services Australia Healthcare Identifiers Service for patient and provider identification and validation.
We call it hiConnect®. If you need standalone access to the HI Service for any reason, please reach out.
If your platform already has an approved HI Service integration, you may also be able to continue using your existing connection.

Your team retains complete control over the user interface, prescribing workflows, application architecture and clinician or patient experience. rxConnect® handles the complex ePrescribing integration behind the scenes while your application remains the system your users interact with.
There is no requirement to use a restrictive third-party portal or iframe.
No. rxConnect® is middleware that sits behind your own healthcare software.
It does not replace your application or force clinicians into a separate prescribing platform. Your software communicates with eRx and the HI Service through the rxConnect® API, allowing the integration to behave much like a direct integration developed specifically for your own system.
A direct ePrescribing integration requires your development team to understand and implement specialised Australian digital health infrastructure, eRx messaging, prescription lifecycle workflows, Healthcare Identifiers, authentication, security and conformance requirements.
rxConnect® has already done that integration work.
Your developers integrate with a simpler REST API while retaining the flexibility and control you would normally expect from building your own direct integration.
You retain control over your application, workflows, user experience and data.
rxConnect® acts as the integration layer between your software and Australia’s electronic prescribing infrastructure, allowing ePrescribing to be embedded directly into your own platform rather than delivered through a separate third-party application.
Yes. Because the integration is API-based, it can support web, mobile and other custom healthcare applications.
rxConnect® provides the underlying eRx and HI Service integration, but connecting it to your application does not automatically make the complete prescribing system conformant or ready for production.
Your application and organisation must still meet the requirements that apply to your ePrescribing use. These may include prescribing workflows, user access, prescription data, security, audit records and the way your organisation operates the service. The complete solution must go through the applicable conformance, connection and approval processes.
HITORI can support that work, including preparing evidence and addressing changes identified during testing. The scope and timeline depend on your application, the functionality you need and external review.
Yes. HITORI can support your team throughout the ePrescribing conformance and approval process, including preparing for testing, addressing technical issues, implementing required changes and working through the relevant ADHA, Services Australia and eRx requirements.
Yes. HITORI can design and build your complete healthcare platform, including the prescribing workflows, user interface, backend, APIs, cloud infrastructure and rxConnect® integration.
